What is cut to order?

Cut to order is ordering a fresh cut straight from the farm. Because this is fresh cut, it will require 2-3 weeks of drying depending on the local climate and we make cuts at the farm 1-2 times per week usually. Super thick and chonky cuts will take longer than the standard drying times so please keep this in mind when ordering. If you see a plant both being offered under cut to order and cuts available to ship, then we already have a cut available to ship and the lead times above do not apply.

What is trichocereus vs echniopsis?

By the modern standards all Trichocereus were pulled under the Echinopsis genus, but some find it easier to identify those columnar cacti still as trichocereus. All trichocereus are echinopsis, but not all echinopsis are trichocereus.

How long will it take to ship?

2 weeks to a month depending on if it needs to dry, but usually much sooner. Packages are shipped out on a weekly basis. Orders in the Cut-to-Order Section will require 2-3 weeks of drying on top of the weekly pruning schedule.

Where do you ship?

USA and others at buyers risk, please email me if you want an international order.

Will I get a tracking number?

Yes once the order is packed you will get an automated email with tracking. Emails are required for tracking.

Why is the shipping so expensive/cheap?

For some odd reason they make volumetric measurements incredibly difficult and with cacti being so variable, its a tough problem to solve for. We are still trying to figure this out, until we do, we will reimburse any major overages.

Where is medicactus located?

Southern California

Who is medicactus?

We are a family of people working to help spread cacti and succulents to the world!

Are the pictures accurate on the site?

Yes, but there might be more than one of each item for sale so you may or may not get the exact cactus shown and all dimensions are estimates based on the smallest piece (good chance it will be bigger) for shipping purposes. Also all cacti are hard grown and healthy, so you might get a piece with old scars, but we would never send out a piece with existing issues.
