Psycho0

Description

Psycho0 is a select collector Trichocereus clone from our nursery's personal collection, offered as a grower-direct cutting for columnar-cactus enthusiasts who appreciate distinctive named clones. We're keeping this one honest: a clean, ornamental San Pedro / Trichocereus cutting prized for its collector value and upright form. Cut to Order: it is cut from the mother plant after you order, then dried and callused here on the farm for about two weeks before it ships. Care: bright light, a fast-draining cactus mix, and sparing water once it has rooted.

The story behind Psycho0

Some clones arrive with a documented family tree. This one arrived with a nickname and a following, and we would rather say that outright than dress up a provenance story we cannot stand behind. What we can vouch for is the material in our own ground. Psycho0 has been growing in our rows long enough that we know how it wakes up in spring, how it handles a full day of unfiltered Southern California sun, and how a cutting off it behaves once it lands in someone else's soil. Everything sold under the name is cut from that stock.

Collectors go looking for this one by name, which is really the whole story: it built its following through the hobby rather than through a catalogue. We sell it under collector convention, meaning the label is what growers settled on rather than anything botanical, and we are upfront that identity claims in this corner of the hobby get muddled fast. Buy it because you want the plant in the photographs and the naming debate stops mattering the moment it is in your soil. When the row has recovered enough to cut again, the drop list is where that gets announced first.
