Native to Bolivia, Chile, and Peru, it's a standout piece for collectors and a striking example of natural variation in the cactus family. Rooted Plants are shipped bare root.

The story behind TBM Clone B

The bridgesii monstrose group has been circulating so long, and under so many overlapping labels, that the letter-to-form pairing genuinely depends on who you are talking to and where they collect. Under the convention we use, Clone A is the long form, throwing stretched pups that carry a few areoles near the base and then run smooth to a blunt, capped end. Clone B is the short form: stubby, thicker segments that pile up into a bushy mass as the plant gains size. A couple of other lettered selections trace back to a specialty succulent nursery, and the crested form is its own animal entirely, all waves and bumps and growth points that simply stop.

One thing worth knowing before you buy. Long-form and crested plants have been recorded reverting to normal ribbed growth and flowering, while nobody has documented a Clone B doing it, so take that as encouraging rather than guaranteed. Because it stays short and grows slowly, Clone B is one of the easier monstrose forms to keep in a pot on a bright patio without it outgrowing the spot in two seasons. This one ships rooted and already established, so you skip the callus-and-wait stage completely.
